Welcome to the London Excellence Website

London Excellence is a not-for-profit membership organisation.

Ambassadors for Excellence is the brand used to recognise our members’ commitment to excellence.

Our ethos is as simple as 1-2-3:

  1. Nurturing a strong community of people committed to raising performance
  2. Peer learning through the sharing of good practice and materials that facilitate review and improvement
  3. Recognition of both achievement and commitment to the community

These three elements and the interplay between them is shown below:

Apply these back in the workplace:

Many organisations have used the London Excellence Awards to develop teams and individuals.

Click here to learn how other organisations have used the awards, turning London Excellence into a Learning Experience!

An overview of the categories is shown to the left hand side of our AWARDS page along with copies of the revised proformae in pdf format.   Proformae in Word format will be provided to applicants when their entry is registered.  Please register your entry using the application form which is available for download to the left of the page.

The awards criteria and the entry proformae have been significantly restructured this year in the light of feedback from applicants, assessors and judges in 2011.  Free briefings to introduce these changes will be offered from September 2011 - January 2012.  Workshops to help you write improved award entries will also be held during this period.  Workshops will be free of charge to award applicants.  Click here to download the booking form.

The final date to apply for the awards is Friday 10th February 2012 - but heed the advice of previous applicants and enter early to gain most benefit from the process.

London Excellence Awards 2011: Winners Announced

We are delighted to announce the winners for the London Excellence Awards 2011.

For a full list of the winners and finalists please click here.

The winners were announced at our Summer Ball on the 18th July at Lord's Cricket Ground.  For pictures of the Summer Ball, please click here.

Despite the inclement weather our community came together to celebrate the achievements of our winners and finalists - and they are significant achievements.    These are not easy awards to enter – let alone win!    The criteria and guidance upon which our rigorous assessment process is based are very challenging and only the best can be recognised as finalists.

But in many ways, winning is just a passing achievement.  The lasting impact for many is achieved when the awards are used to drive learning and improvement.  Mott MacDonald summed this up through the phrase

"London Excellence - Learning Experience"

Mott MacDonald have used the awards to encourage their young professionals to learn about their company and develop skills that will serve them well in the future.  Skills that will help them to write bids for future contracts.  Skills that were rewarded as Mott MacDonald were named as winners of the Succeeding through People award.

If you are interested in learning about how you could benefit from our awards in 2012, please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   and we will be glad to help.
